![]() ![]() The second weirdest surprise here is that you don’t play as any of the characters from the original series, instead playing as a player-created soldier who just happened to be around on the sidelines during the events of the show. People who played the first game may find this repetitive at first, but the game manages to switch it up a little bit. ![]() One of the weirdest surprises of Attack on Titan 2 is the fact that instead of picking up where the original left off (the end of the Season 1 storyline) and starting from Season 2, it instead covers Season 1 all over again before getting into the new stuff. Overall, Attack on Titan 2 is quite similar to 2016’s Attack on Titan: Wings of Freedom but it’s a significantly tighter and more polished experience. The game features a gorgeous visual style that recreates the feel of the anime without blatantly aping its look, it has fast and fluid-feeling combat, and a story that, while a pared back version of the story from the anime, is still every bit as charming and emotionally devastating as you expect. ![]() After spending roughly two weeks with Attack on Titan 2, the greatest compliment I can give it is that it’s a fantastic character-driven action RPG aside from being a really good adaptation of the beloved Manga and Anime. ![]()
